Asked to comment on media reports that US officials have raised so-called concerns to the UK government regarding the participation of a Chinese wind power equipment manufacturing company in the construction of offshore wind farms in the UK, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the UK on Friday said that US officials’ claims that Chinese companies' equipment poses security risks are groundless. 

The spokesperson noted that the US move is aimed at undermining China-UK practical cooperation. “We hope that the UK will make a decision based on facts and in line with its national interests, and not accept political hijacking by anti-China politicians in the US,” the spokesperson said, according to a statement posted on the embassy’s website.
