China's position on the Palestinian issue has been consistent, firmly standing with the Palestinian people and in favor of justice and morality, said Zhai Jun, special envoy of the Chinese government on the Middle East issue, in a meeting with diplomatic envoys of Arab countries in China on Tuesday in Beijing at their request.

Zhai said that currently, the Palestinian issue is at a critical stage. "China believes that the Gaza conflict must be stopped immediately. The humanitarian aid must be kept flowing. The situation in the West Bank must be given attention, and the foundation of the "two-state solution" must be firmly consolidated," Zhai said.

Zhai told the Arab diplomatic envoys that China supports Arab countries in strengthening unity and playing a greater role on the Palestinian issue, and is willing to work with the international community, including Arab countries, to promote a comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue based on the "two-state solution."

The diplomatic envoys of Arab countries said that the situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is further deteriorating. They expressed firm opposition and condemnation of Israel's violence, blockade and hunger policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as any actions that encroach upon Palestinian land and forcibly alter the demographic structure of Palestine. 

The Arab envoys said that the Arab side highly appreciates China's efforts to promote a ceasefire in Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and support the "two-state solution." They look forward to China continuing to uphold its just position on the Palestinian issue and playing a more constructive role in helping the Palestinian people determine their own future and ultimately achieve the independence and establishment of a Palestinian state.
