Female billiards player Wang Sinuo posted a video on social media on Saturday, saying that she was a victim of the malicious use of AI to fabricate and circulate obscene videos of her.

In the video posted on short-video platform Douyin, she said that she has entrusted a lawyer to preserve evidence and initiate legal proceedings, and the police have filed a case that is now under investigation, the China News Service reported on Sunday.

On the same day, female billiards referee Wang Zhongyao also released a video on Douyin in support of Wang Sinuo. Wang Zhongyao said she herself experienced a similar incident several years ago, when obscene videos of her were illegally circulated on overseas websites.

At that time, she chose to report the matter to the police but did not respond publicly. Upon learning that Wang Sinuo was also affected by false rumors, Wang Zhongyao said that remaining silent is tantamount to condoning the crime and called on all the victims to come forward.

As of press time, Wang Sinuo's video has drawn more than 1.79 million views and 280,000 likes, while Wang Zhongyao's video received 180,000 likes.

According to public information, Wang Sinuo, born in 2007 in Huludao City, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, is a Chinese female billiards player and model. The Chinese 8-Ball Pool, which combines snooker style, nine-ball table size and American 8-Ball Pool competition rules, has been a unique Chinese game of billiards for decades, and has become increasingly popular abroad in recent years, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
