Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed China's V-Day commemorative events on Wednesday marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Russian media reported.
The events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan in Beijing were held brilliantly and at the highest level, Putin said during talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Beijing, according to the TASS News Agency.
Putin noted that in the morning they had jointly attended the commemorative events, "All of these events were held brilliantly, simply very well, at a high level," Putin emphasized, said the report.
China held a massive military parade in central Beijing on Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of its victory in World War II, pledging the country's commitment to peaceful development in a world still fraught with turbulence and uncertainties, Xinhua News Agency reported.
