On Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry's Department of Consular Affairs urged Chinese citizens and institutions in Nepal to remain vigilant, closely track the security situation, strengthen safety precautions, and ensure they are fully prepared for emergencies.

Recently, large-scale demonstrations have taken place in Kathmandu and other parts of Nepal. China's Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal remind Chinese citizens and institutions in the country to closely monitor the local security situation, take effective measures to enhance safety precautions, and be well prepared for emergencies, the department said.

Chinese nationals are advised to avoid unnecessary outings and stay away from protest sites and crowds. Chinese citizens planning to travel to Nepal are advised to carefully assess security risks and plan their trips with caution. In case of emergency, please report to the police immediately and contact the Chinese Embassy in Nepal for assistance, the department added.

Following military intervention, the streets in the Nepali capital of Kathmandu were free of protests on Wednesday, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

Nepal Army soldiers took charge of security operations in the capital at 10 pm local time on Tuesday, after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stepped down, and curfews have been imposed in the Kathmandu Valley, Xinhua said.
