The Public Security Bureau in Xiamen, East China's Fujian Province, issued a bounty notice on Saturday seeking clues on illegal activities of 18 core members of the Taiwan regional military's "Psychological Operations Battalion" under the "Political Warfare Bureau," which carried out smear campaigns and incited secession. The notice also published the members' photos and identification numbers on the bureau's website.

According to the police investigation, the unit has six divisions handling tasks such as disinformation, intelligence gathering, tactical psychological warfare, broadcast propaganda, and mobilization, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

They launched websites for smear campaigns, created seditious games to incite secession, produced fake video content to mislead the audience, operated illegal radios for infiltration, and manipulated public opinion with resources from external forces, all aiming at advocating fallacies of "Taiwan independence" and inciting secession, the Xiamen police said.

Investigation has found out that the Taiwan military's "Psychological Operations Battalion" under the "Political Warfare Bureau" has long planned and carried out activities that incite division of the state. To lawfully punish crimes that endanger national sovereignty and territorial integrity and to effectively safeguard national security, the bureau hereby offers a reward to solicit information on illegal and criminal activities by 18 core members of the unit, including Yen Chia-hung, said the notice.

The bureau also noted that anyone who discovers relevant information could report it immediately; it will keep informants' identities strictly confidential. Informants who provide valid clues, as well as individuals who assist public security authorities in apprehending criminal suspects, will be rewarded with 10,000 yuan. Those who retaliate against informants will be severely punished in accordance with the law.
