During the Paris Fashion Week, a post went viral online after a netizen spotted a boy in France wearing a Chengdu No.7 High School uniform. Online users soon joked that Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, now has its own local "ultra-luxury item," Guangming Online citing Sichuan Radio and Television.
A social media user recently posted on Xiaohongshu (also known as RedNote), captioning it "the first show of Paris Fashion Week." The user wrote that the first person they came across in the trip abroad was a schoolmate wearing the uniform of their own high school.
The user included two photos, in which a boy is seen from behind, leaning against a handrail on the Paris Metro, dressed in a blue-and-white Chinese high school uniform. The Chinese characters "Chengdu No.7 High School" are clearly visible on the back - strikingly eye-catching.
The post quickly went viral, gaining over 15,000 likes and over 1,000 comments.
Chengdu No.7 High School is a nationally renowned full-time secondary school with considerable international influence, according to its official website.
The boy's mother later found the post and left a comment to "claim" her son, thanking the photographer and explaining that "this was part of a school-organized study and exchange program to France."
"I didn't expect the post to draw so much attention," the poster told the Global Times on Thursday. "I took and shared the photos simply because it felt heartwarming to see someone wearing the uniform of my alma mater in a foreign country."
