China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) successfully hosted its inaugural global brand launch event titled "The Might of the Atom, The Future for All" on October 15. The event, attended by stakeholders and partners, showcased CNNC's achievements in technological innovation and brand development. During the event, the corporation unveiled its new brand strategy, seven key brands, and the "1+1+N" social responsibility report matrix, aiming to further enhance the global recognition and reputation of the "CNNC" brand.

Hualong One

Hualong One is China's third-generation nuclear power brand with completely independent intellectual property rights. It both exemplifies a great national instrument as well as clean energy, and provides an important pathway toward achieving the "dual carbon" goals, and a flagship brand of China's high-end manufacturing industry.

The name "Hualong"—meaning "China's dragon"—embodies the spirit of national rejuvenation and the rise of a great nation. It not only carries the honor of being a "great national instrument" but also bears the mission of representing China on the global stage.

Hualong One brand has achieved remarkable success, with significant social and environmental benefits. A single reactor unit can generate nearly 10 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, equivalent to reducing approximately 8.16 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

Technical advantages: Safe and efficient, green and low-carbon, technologically advanced

Linglong One

In the field of nuclear power, "Linglong One" represents global innovation in small modular reactor (SMR) technology. Independently developed by China, this multi-purpose modular small pressurized water reactor is affectionately known as the "nuclear power bank." It pioneers new pathways for the comprehensive use of nuclear energy and, thanks to its outstanding performance, has become an important option for partner countries participating in the cooperative construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative to achieve the goal of reducing carbon emissions.

The world's first Linglong One reactor is nearing completion, marking a major breakthrough for China in modular small reactor technology. As global energy demands diversify and the need for clean energy intensifies, small reactors—thanks to their flexibility and safety—are demonstrating unique advantages in applications such as power supply for remote areas and urban heating.

Technical advantages: High safety, multi-functionality, flexibility

Guoyou No.1

Guoyou No.1 is China's third-generation uranium mining and metallurgy engineering technology brand, developed with completely independent intellectual property rights and representing the world's leading level in the field. It embodies the new quality productive forces in the natural uranium industry. The related technologies have twice won the second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, significantly enhancing China's capability in securing its natural uranium supply.

The Guoyou No.1 demonstration project has been listed among the top ten events in China's Nuclear Industry and the top ten annual news of CNNC, receiving widespread attention and recognition. As China's largest natural uranium production base, the project stands as a model of CNNC's commitment to green development philosophy and its active exploration of intelligent mining.

Technical advantages: High efficiency and cost-effectiveness, advanced intelligence, green and safe operations

Heqi No.1

The Heqi No.1, a nuclear energy steam supply project at Tianwan Nuclear Power Station (TNPS),marks China's first large-scale industrial-use nuclear steam supply. Each year, it provides 4.8 million tons of industrial steam to the Lianyungang Petrochemical Industrial Base, East China's Jiangsu Province—one of the seven national petrochemical hubs in China—offering a new solution for supporting the green transformation of traditional petrochemical industries through nuclear energy.

Heqi No.1 integrates nuclear energy with the petrochemical sector by supplying steam and heat required in industrial production, achieving multi-energy complementarity. This innovation not only expands the application scenarios of nuclear power—raising the actual thermal efficiency of nuclear power plants from 37% to 42%—but also opens new pathways for energy conservation, carbon reduction, and efficient utilization of petroleum resources in the petrochemical field, accelerating the industry's green and low-carbon transition.

The project effectively addresses the energy bottlenecks restricting high-quality development of the petrochemical base, reducing carbon emissions by more than 700,000 tons annually, while promoting industrial growth in Lianyungang and pioneering new directions for developing advanced productivity in the nuclear energy sector.

Technical advantages: Green and safe, stable and efficient, zero-carbon and clean

Hefu No.1

Hefu No.1 is China's first isotope production technology brand, developed based on the heavy-water reactor of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Company under CNNC's nuclear power sector. It marks a key breakthrough in China's application of nuclear technology.

In active response to national initiatives, Qinshan Nuclear Power Company has achieved large-scale and stable production of critical medical isotopes such as Cobalt-60, Carbon-14, Lutetium-177, and Yttrium-90, and has effectively paved the way for a complete industrial chain, achieving the seamless integration of independent R&D, in-house production, and market-oriented supply. This advancement has laid a solid foundation for the safe and sustainable development of China's nuclear medicine industry.

As a major platform for CNNC's branded development of the isotope industry, Hefu No.1 has established a brand-driven and industry-synergized development model.
