China's Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that at the invitation of Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Espen Barth Eide will pay an official visit to China from November 10 to 11. At the regular press conference on Friday, FM spokesperson Mao Ning further introduced the visit, saying that China welcomes Foreign Minister Eide's visit. Mao noted that the Norwegian government has just been re-elected, and China extended congratulations at the earliest opportunity.

Mao added that Foreign Minister Eide's visit to China shortly after the election demonstrates Norway's importance attached to bilateral relations. During the visit, the two sides will have in-depth exchanges on China-Norway relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest. The visit is expected to help consolidate mutual trust, enhance consensus, strengthen cooperation, and contribute to the sound and steady growth of bilateral relations, said the spokesperson.
