The director-general of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Masaaki Kanai, visited China since Monday. According to Japanese media report, during his visit in China, Kanai would hold consultations with the Chinese side regarding Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's remarks on Taiwan question.

According to CCTV News, on Tuesday, Liu Jinsong, director-general of the Asian Affairs Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, met with Kanai at the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Around 2 pm, Kanai and his delegation left the Chinese Foreign Ministry. 

At around 3:30 pm, the Global Times reporters spotted at the Beijing Capital International Airport that Kanai is leaving China. The Global Times reporters saw Kanai did not answer questions from media.
