The organizing committee of Shanghai International Comedy Festival released a statement on Tuesday to announce the cancelation of comedy shows by Yoshimoto Kogyo, scheduled at Lyceum Theatre in Shanghai between November 20 and 22 “due to force majeure reasons.”

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the performance. Ticket-holding audience members do not need to take any action. The ticket fee will be fully refunded,” said the statement. 

On Monday, the Japanese boy band JO1 announced the cancellation of their scheduled fan meeting in Guangzhou, South China’s Guangdong Province. 

According to an announcement released by China's popular streaming platform QQ music on social media, the originally scheduled JO1 Fan Party in Guangzhou will be cancelled also due to “force majeure.” 

In recent days, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has faced strong condemnation from the Chinese public for her erroneous remarks.

Japanese actor Keiji Takamine, the protagonist in Ultraman Ace, asked in his X post on Monday "What's the point in quarreling with China?" 

The Japanese actor continued to write in his post, "I think the key to maintaining peace is making an effort to get along!"

Japanese singer MARiA also posted on Chinese social media Sina Weibo on Tuesday that "China is my second hometown, and all my friends in China are my cherished family - I will always support one China."
