When asked whether China would believe Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi should provide a "sincere" explanation of the Japanese government's position regarding her Taiwan-related remarks, and how the Japanese government could further clarify its position to satisfy Beijing as Takaichi claimed Wednesday that regarding her Taiwan-related remarks she has a responsibility to explain the government's actions to the public and that she answered the relevant questions "sincerely," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning reiterated on Wednesday that "China's position is very clear. We solemnly urge Japan to retract its erroneous statements and demonstrate its political commitment to China through concrete actions."
