In response to media inquiry regarding the China-US counternarcotics cooperation following the two heads of state's meeting in Busan, South Korea, and whether the two countries' counternarcotics authorities have maintained communication, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Public Security stated that the counternarcotics departments of China and the US have earnestly implemented the important consensus reached at the Busan meeting, actively advanced counternarcotics cooperation and achieved notable results.
The two sides have jointly investigated multiple cases. Their cross-departmental counternarcotics working teams have maintained close communication, holding a virtual meeting in recent days to brief each other on progress and discuss priorities for the next stage of cooperation. China will, on the basis of equality and mutual respect, work with the US to jointly address prominent global drug-related challenges, said the spokesperson.
