Suspect apprehended, 2 injured in Nanchang hospital attack: local police

On Monday evening, the Donghu Branch of the Nanchang Public Security Bureau in Nanchang, East China's Jiangxi Province, issued a police notice regarding a case at a hospital. The notice stated that at approximately 9:50 am on Monday, the branch received a report of an injury incident at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the suspect was apprehended onsite.

According to the notice, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Wang (male, 59 years old), used a fruit knife he was carrying to stab a consulting doctor in the arm and slash a medical intern's finger during a medical visit. Both injured individuals are in stable condition and are not in life-threatening danger.

Currently, the suspect has been placed under criminal detention in accordance with the law, and the case is under further investigation.
