Resolving the Taiwan question is an internal affair that belongs to the Chinese people alone, brooking absolutely no external interference whatsoever. The current complex and severe situation in the Taiwan Straits is fundamentally due to the Lai Ching-te authorities' stubborn adherence to the "Taiwan independence" separatist stance and their continuous collusion with external forces to provoke "independence" actions, mainland spokesperson Zhu Fenglian commented on Wednesday, in response to a question on the recently published Wall Street Journal article claiming PLA would "attack Taiwan" in three phases while listing so-called best timing and landing sites to do so. 

Taiwan is China's Taiwan. Resolving the Taiwan question and achieving the complete reunification of China is the common aspiration of all Chinese sons and daughters, and a sacred mission and just cause, Zhu told a regular conference.

We hope that the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots will clearly recognize the harmfulness and destructiveness of the Lai Ching-te authorities' "Taiwan independence leading to war," resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatism and external interference, join us in safeguarding peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits, promoting the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations, and advancing the great cause of national reunification, the spokesperson stated.
