Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) summoned the heads of relevant missions and organizations in Hong Kong from the US, the UK and other countries on Wednesday and Thursday, lodging solemn representations over interference remarks made by their officials and politicians regarding the conviction of Jimmy Lai.

The office expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition, and urged the countries, organizations and politicians concerned to abide by international law and the basic norms governing international relations, respect China's sovereignty and Hong Kong's rule of law, and stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs in any form.
