The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) plans to intensify efforts to facilitate China-US business exchanges in 2026 by inviting US companies and institutions to join APEC business activities with China as the host, and the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), aiming to build stronger bridges for two-way trade and investment, a CCPIT spokesperson said on Monday.

Meanwhile, seven organizers will lead 207 Chinese enterprises - more than 120 of them small and medium-sized tech firms - in sectors including artificial intelligence (AI), smart wearables, and smart homes, to exhibit at the 2026 CES in Las Vegas, Wang Wenshuai, a spokesperson for the CCPIT, said at a regular press conference.

Wang noted that the CCPIT has actively facilitated closer China-US business engagement this year. At the 3rd CISCE, the number of US exhibitors increased by 15 percent compared with the previous edition in 2024, making the US the top foreign participant. Registration for next year's 4th CISCE remains robust.

A Chinese business delegation organized by the CCPIT successfully concluded a visit to the US, conducting more than 20 matchmaking events. The delegation, representing 25 leading Chinese firms across key industries, held talks with more than 170 US enterprises and institutions, including Apple, HP and Micron, according to Wang.

Both sides expressed strong interest in deepening cooperation and achieving mutual benefits, underscoring the highly complementary structure and deeply integrated interests of China-US economic and trade relations, Wang said.

At the invitation of the US Chamber of Commerce, the CCPIT organized a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Washington, San Francisco and Oakland from December 2 to 6, according to the CCPIT's official website.

Wang noted that business leaders from both countries pledged to implement the important consensus reached during the leaders' meeting in Busan and their November 24 phone call, emphasizing that trade should serve as a ballast rather than a stumbling block in bilateral relations.

"Everyone was excited, and many viewed it as a strong signal of deeper economic and trade cooperation between the two sides," Ian Zhou, director and founding partner of Real Value Capital, who was in the delegation, told the Global Times.

Another participant, Zhou Xin, general manager of Dalian Jinma Weighing Apparatus Co, told the Global Times that both sides were genuinely curious about each other and constantly exchanged information. "The atmosphere was extremely lively," Zhou Xin said.

During the visit, CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin introduced China's commitment to high-quality development and new measures to boost high-level opening-up, according to Wang.

Wang also said that the 4th CISCE in 2026 will for the first time set up an exhibition area for AI. There will also be an exhibition area for future technologies, such as quantum technology, bio-manufacturing, hydrogen energy and nuclear fusion energy, brain-computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, and 6G mobile communication.

Marking the 20th anniversary of the China-US Commercial Match-Making Program, the CCPIT hosted five specialized roundtables in cities including Beijing and Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, covering rail transit and the low-carbon, medical and insurance sectors, having attracted more than 300 Chinese and US companies and institutions, said Wang.

Wang said that nationwide, the CCPIT issued 79,600 certificates of origin for exports to the US and handled more than 9,000 patent and trademark applications related to the US market in 2025, up 4.9 percent year-on-year.

In 2025, the CCPIT also approved more than 3,900 Chinese companies to participate in 126 professional exhibitions in the US, the spokesperson said.

As the world's two largest economies, China and the US have huge potential for cooperation. It is in line with economic laws and the interests of both sides for the business communities of the two countries to deepen cooperation, Song Guoyou, a deputy director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University, told the Global Times.

"As long as there is a good political and diplomatic atmosphere, the business communities of the two countries are willing to strengthen cooperation and are sure to create greater value in the process," said Song.
