Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh won the Best Actress award for the fourth time at the TVB Anniversary Awards 2025 held in Macao on Sunday, breaking her own record. She also took home the award for Most Popular TVB Actress in the Greater Bay Area, making her the focus of the night. Bosco Wong also clinched his first Best Actor award for the same series, The Queen of News 2.

Charmaine Sheh made history by becoming the first artist in TVB history to win the Best Actress award for the fourth time, thanks to her role in The Queen of News 2. She was moved to tears at the ceremony. Her previous win was in 2023, also for portraying the character Man Wai-sum in The Queen of News.

She said in her acceptance speech: "The last time I won, I felt it was Charmaine Sheh who won. But this time, I believe it was Man Wai-sum who won. I didn't just play the role - I became the role. She guided me, and through the compelling storyline, I resonated with the audience once again. I'd like to say to Man Wai-sum, 'I love you, Man Wai-sum!'"

Charmaine Sheh began her career after being elected as Miss Hong Kong Pageant's 2nd Runner-up in 1997 and has since created a number of iconic roles through dramas such as War and Beauty, Beyond the Realm of Conscience, and Line Walker. Among her peers, she stands out as one of the few artists who has genuinely achieved widespread recognition in the Chinese mainland. Her portrayal of the cunning and composed Consort Xian in the hit series Story of Yanxi Palace significantly broadened her fanbase among mainland audiences. She further delivered remarkable performances in subsequent works like Winter begonia and The Legend of Xiaochuo.

Bosco Wong won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of the role Koo Chiu-wah in The Queen of News 2, also reclaiming the title of Greater Bay Area's Favourite TVB Actor since 2023. Since his debut in 1999, Wong first gained recognition by winning the Most Improved Male Artiste award in 2005 for TV series Wars of In-Laws, and later secured the Best Supporting Actor award in 2008 for Moonlight Resonance II. Despite being nominated five times for the Best Actor award - first in 2012 for Witness Insecurity, followed by nominations in 2014 for The Ultimate Addiction, 2017 for Two Steps from Heaven, and 2021 for The Impossible 3 - the accolade had always eluded him until this fifth nomination, finally fulfilling his dream.

The Queen of News 2 undoubtedly emerged as the biggest winner of the awards ceremony, sweeping nine awards including Best Drama Series, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Greater Bay Area's Favourite TVB Actress, Greater Bay Area's Favourite TVB Actor, and Greater Bay Area's Favourite TVB Drama.
