A mountain fire broke out on Sunday in Shantou, South China's Guangdong Province, and the blaze has been extinguished without casualties, according to an announcement issued by the emergency management bureau of Haojiang district of Shantou on Monday.

The fire started at 3:39 pm on Sunday in Queshi subdistrict of Haojiang district, said the bureau, adding that local authorities from both city and district levels immediately dispatched teams from emergency management, firefighting, public security, natural resources, street offices and power supply to put out the blaze.

The Guangdong mobility detachment of the national fire and rescue department also participated in firefighting. The blaze was put out at 6:20 am on Monday and no casualties were reported.
