He Jiaolong, director of the agricultural products brand development and production-sales service center of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, passed away late Wednesday at the age of 47 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a work-related accident, according to an obituary released by the Xinjiang Daily.

At around 3 pm on January 11, she was conducting preliminary filming for an agricultural e-commerce promotion event in Bole when she fell from a horse, suffering severe head injuries. He Jiaolong was immediately taken to the People’s Hospital in the Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture for emergency treatment.

Following the accident, the Party committee and government of the prefecture swiftly mobilized local medical resources for full rescue efforts, while specialists from relevant disciplines nationwide were contacted for consultations. The Xinjiang regional health authority also dispatched experts to assist. On January 13, He was transferred to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University for intensive care. Despite all-out medical efforts, she passed away the following day due to the severity of her injuries.

Born in December 1979 in Shehong, a county-level city in Sichuan Province, He was a member of the Communist Party of China, and a long-time grass-roots official. She had received numerous honors, including the Awards of March 8th Red-Banner Holder, 2022 figure of the year in agriculture, rural areas and farmers, and outstanding regional worker.

In 2020, while serving as deputy county head of Zhaosu county, He launched livestreaming campaigns via social media to promote local agricultural products. In November that year, a video showing her riding through snowy grasslands to promote tourism went viral nationwide. After transferring to her current post in 2023, she helped more than 400 agricultural enterprises complete e-commerce upgrades.

In recent years, He was deeply involved in promoting Xinjiang region’s culture and tourism and in livestreaming to support farmers. She never accepted personal remuneration, and all rewards from users in livestreaming were directed to public welfare causes, according to the obituary released by the Xinjiang Daily.
