An explosion at a plate manufacturing plant of Bao Gang United Steel company in Baotou city, North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Sunday afternoon has resulted in two deaths and five people missing, with another 66 injured and taken to hospital, including three in critical condition, as of Sunday evening, Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday, citing the local emergency management, fire and rescue, and other departments of Baotou city.
After the incident, the autonomous regional authorities immediately organized rescue teams to conduct on-site rescue operations. The cause of the accident is under investigation, according to Xinhua.
