Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun
The healthy and stable development of China-Canada relations aligns with the common interests of both countries and is also conducive to world peace, stability, development, and prosperity, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated Tuesday, in response to a foreign reporter's question regarding Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's recent remarks that the world has changed in recent years, and Canada-China relations have become more predictable in recent months. The reporter also asked whether China believes these remarks will bring new development opportunities for bilateral relations.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Guo said that China's position on developing relations with Canada is consistent and clear. China is willing to work with Canada in a spirit of responsibility toward history, the people, and the world to advance the construction of a new strategic partnership between China and Canada, steer bilateral relations onto a track of healthy, stable, and sustainable development, and better benefit the peoples of both nations, Guo stated.
