China has consistently advocated handling relations between countries in accordance with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. Claims of a so-called "China threat" are entirely groundless, and China opposes fabricating issues and using China as a pretext to seek selfish interests, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Thursday. Guo made the remarks in response to a media inquiry regarding NATO spokesperson's claim on Arctic security, and meeting between NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and US President Donald Trump.
