The death toll from the tour bus accident in Russia's Primorsky Krai happened on Thursday has risen to three, the regional prosecutor's office told the RIA Novosti. The bus involved in the crash is still under investigation, according to RIA Novosti.

The prosecutor's office reported that there were 14 people on board the tour bus, among whom two people were dead while another five were injured. The office later updated that the death toll has risen to three. 

Local government of Russia's Primorsky Krai announced that it will provide all necessary assistance to the victims of the tour bus accident, according to RIA Novosti.

Early on, Xinhua, citing Russian media, reported that a tour bus carrying Chinese tourists collided with a truck in Russia's Primorsky Krai on Wednesday, leaving two people dead, including the bus driver and one passenger. The identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed.

The health ministry previously reported on Thursday that a major traffic accident involving a tourist bus and a heavy truck occurred on a highway in the Barabash area of Khasan District in Primorsky Krai. According to preliminary information, the bus was carrying Chinese tourists and had entered from China. Casualty figures are still being verified, per RIA Novosti.

The two people dead included the bus driver and a female passenger, the ministry revealed, per RIA Novosti's earlier report.
