In response to Australian police charging two Chinese nationals with foreign interference, alleging they secretly collected information at the behest of Chinese police, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that he was not aware of the specific details of the case. He noted that China never interferes in the internal affairs of other countries and firmly opposes using "foreign interference" as a pretext to disrupt China's normal people-to-people exchanges and cooperation with relevant countries.
China urged Australia to handle the case prudently and properly and to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese nationals, Lin said.
