"Iran's selection of a new supreme leader is a decision made based on its constitution, and non-interference in internal affairs is a basic principle of international relations," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun at a regular press conference on Tuesday, when asked to comment on remarks by US President Donald Trump that the son of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei becoming Iran's next supreme leader is an "unacceptable" choice to him.
