The related reports are entirely fabricated. If the US insists on using the so-called arms exports as a pretext to impose additional tariffs on China, China will resolutely take countermeasures, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday in response to a question about some media outlets reported that US President Donald Trump claimed, with regard to reports of China supplying weapons to Iran, the US would impose an additional 50 percent tariff on China if China is found supplying weapons to Iran.

China has consistently adopted a prudent and responsible attitude regarding arms exports, implementing strict controls in accordance with its domestic export control laws and regulations as well as its international obligations, Guo added.
