Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office
Asked to comment on a recent claim by the DPP authorities that they have revoked some privileges for Danish representatives in Taiwan and called for an early solution, after Denmark in March 2024 changed registration of nationality and place of birth on the residence permits of Taiwan residents in Denmark from “Taiwan” to “China,” Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on Wednesday that the one-China principle is a universally recognized basic norm governing international relations and a prevailing international consensus, representing the will of the people and the trend of the times.
No matter how much the DPP authorities try to pull petty tricks, they cannot change the fact that Taiwan is part of China, nor can they shake the international community's fundamental commitment to the one-China principle, Chen said.
