A video revealing life in prison has gone viral on Chinese social media, as netizens hotly discuss the latest arrest of entertainer Kris Wu for suspected rape and how many years in prison he could be handed down once convicted.

The 30-second short video, released by Sichuan prison administrative bureau, depicted how inmates live, train, receive education, and learn skills. A prisoner starts a day by asking oneself three questions: Who are you? Why are you here? What are you here for?

Prisoners can learn about the legal system and social norms and even develop a skill, according to the video.

The moment the video was released, it was viewed by netizens as being associated with the recently detained celebrity, Chinese-Canadian entertainer Kris Wu. The video has a Korean song as background music, in coincidence that Wu was also once a member of South Korean pop band EXO.

Wu was detained in China on July 31 for suspected rape. Some said the life in prison will rehabilitate Wu.

"Life within high walls" was the most searched phrase on Thursday morning. The video has been viewed more than 100 million times on different social media platforms.
