The city of Jilin in Northeast China's Jilin Province on Tuesday reported 10 new COVID-19 asymptomatic carriers, who worked in an imported cold-chain food processing workshop of a trade company, amid the rising epidemic risks in the city as it is conducting a three-day citywide nucleic acid testing.

The 10 employees were close contacts of the asymptomatic carrier detected on Monday and they tested positive for COVID-19 during a centralized quarantine, the Jilin health authority said on Tuesday.

All of them have been sent to a designated hospital for further medical treatment and observation, and the epidemiological investigation is in progress, according to the authorities.

From Monday to Wednesday, the public transportation, including buses, taxis and car-hailing services will suspend operation and schools will also be suspended, Jilin authorities said, noting unnecessary personnel flow should be avoided.
