Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing bade farewell on Wednesday at the embassy to newly appointed South Korean Ambassador to China Roh Jae-heon, who is set to leave to assume duty. Dai congratulated Roh on his new appointment, noting that Roh has long been committed to promoting China-ROK friendly cooperation and has played an active role in fostering people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Dai expressed hope that Ambassador Roh would carry forward the legacy of his father, former president Roh Tae-woo — one of the key architects of China-ROK diplomatic relations — and, in line with the aspirations of both peoples, make new contributions to advancing the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership to a higher level.
Roh said it was an honor to serve during a key period for China-ROK relations and vowed to strengthen bilateral cooperation. He also said he was willing to do his utmost to promote the development of ROK-China relations and to enhance friendly cooperation between the two countries.
