The first batch of emergency humanitarian aid provided by the Chinese government to Cambodia, including tents, blankets, and food, arrived at Phnom Penh's Techo International Airport at noon local time on Sunday, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia said on its official WeChat account.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Zhong Jie, and Cambodian Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation UNG Rachana, among others, attended the handover ceremony, according to the embassy.

Wang Wenbin said that China's provision of emergency humanitarian aid supplies worth 20 million yuan fully reflects the deep friendship between China and Cambodia.

China welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire by both Cambodia and Thailand and will continue to play a positive and constructive role in helping the two sides consolidate the ceasefire situation, Wang Wenbing said.

On behalf of the Cambodian government and people, UNG Rachana expressed sincere gratitude to China for providing the aid, saying that the Cambodian government highly values the ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China and greatly appreciates China's active and constructive efforts in promoting the ceasefire.

After a ceasefire agreement was reached by Cambodia and Thailand on Saturday, it was announced by a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson that at the invitation of Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Sihasak Phuangketkeow will lead delegations to meet in Yunnan from Sunday to Monday.

China will play a constructive role in its own way for Cambodia and Thailand to consolidate the ceasefire, resume exchanges, rebuild political trust, achieve turnaround in bilateral relations and uphold regional peace, the spokesperson said.
