In response to a media inquiry about latest claims made by US President Donald Trump regarding the Taiwan question in an interview with The New York Times, in which he claimed that if China attempts to change the status quo in Taiwan during his term, he would be "very unhappy," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at Friday's press briefing that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. The Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair, and resolving it is a matter for the Chinese people, brooking no external interference.
