China has consistently opposed interference in other countries' internal affairs, upheld that the sovereignty and security of all countries should be fully protected, and opposed the use or threat of force in international relations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at Monday's regular press conference, noting that hopefully all parties should do more to contribute to peace and stability in this region.

These remarks were made in response to a media inquiry about comments from US President Donald Trump stating that Washington is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and that the US is "looking at some very strong options," as well as reports suggesting the US has considered a range of measures, including sanctions, deploying cyber weapons, and potential military strikes.
