The explosion at Baogang United Steel in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Sunday killed 10 people and injured 84 others, China Central Television reported on Wednesday, citing the announcement from local emergency rescue command headquarters.
The blast occurred at 3:03 pm on January 18, prompting emergency rescue teams from national, autonomous regional and city levels to rush to the scene.
After exhaustive search and rescue efforts, and verification by public security, health and other departments, it was confirmed that the eight people previously gone missing showed no signs of life, said the announcement.
The accident has resulted in 10 deaths and 84 injuries. All injured individuals are currently in stable condition. Follow-up arrangements and the accident investigation are ongoing, according to the report.
