In response to a media inquiry about China's decision to take countermeasures against Keiji Furuya, a member of the House of Representatives of National Diet of Japan, Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said that China's countermeasures against certain pro-Taiwan Japanese politicians are lawful and just actions taken in accordance with Chinese law, aimed at safeguarding national interests and consistent with international practice.

"Taiwan question lies at the core of China's core interests and is an insurmountable red line. Furuya has insisted on colluding with "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and stirring up trouble, seriously interfering in China's internal affairs and gravely harming China's sovereignty and core interests. China firmly opposes such actions and will take lawful countermeasures as a warning to others," said the spokesperson.

Zhu stressed that the authorities of Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party authorities, for their own partisan interests, have fawned on external forces and betrayed national interests, and will ultimately face the judgment of history.
