Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning

"China supports all efforts conducive to peace. Since the outbreak of the conflict involving Iran, China has been actively working to promote talks for peace. We have already released information on the meeting between the foreign ministers of China and Pakistan, which you may refer to," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on Thursday, in response to questions on whether Iran has asked for security guarantees from China and whether China has responded to the request as reports claimed that Iran has sought security guarantees from China and that a ceasefire among the US, Israel and Iran could be possible if such guarantees are provided.

Mao said that China stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties to continue playing a role in restoring peace in the Middle East.
