The PLA Southern Theater Command organized routine drone flight training in the airspace near China's Dongsha Island, which is entirely legitimate and lawful, Peng Qing'en, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular press conference on Wednesday, when asked to comment on claims by Taiwan's defense authorities that a mainland drone had entered airspace within 12 nautical miles of China's Dongsha Island and that the move was a so-called "highly provocative and irresponsible act" that undermined regional peace and stability and violated international law.

Peng said the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities disregard the facts and the legal basis that Taiwan is part of China, stubbornly cling to a "Taiwan independence" stance, and continuously engage in separatist provocations, making them nothing but real "troublemakers."
