China's top pharmaceutical distributor Sinopharm Holdings has started a nationwide logistics rehearsal process to prepare for the upcoming "mass use" of COVID-19 vaccines. The Global Times visited the rehearsal site to check out how it is conducting large-scale transport drills across the country. Sinopharm Holdings is affiliated with the Chinese state-owned pharmaceutical giant China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm Group) which developed two of the front-running inactivated vaccines against the coronavirus in China. The company has started large-scaled manoeuvres to test its capacity and capability in all links of the vaccine mass distribution system covering receiving orders, system scheduling, transporting to warehouses, sorting out batches, and landing to local CDCs or vaccination sites.

More than 1,200 new products that will be exhibited at the upcoming third China International Import Expo (CIIE) have already been put on the shelves at Shanghai's Greenland Global Community Hub, an all-year-around exhibition and trading service platform of the CIIE, although the event will be held in about 50 days' time. More exhibits are on their way to China for the event, staff at the national pavilions in the hub told the Global Times on Wednesday. The hub so far boasts around 39 national pavilions including those for Japan, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Syria and Brazil, showcasing Chinese visitors a full range of products from around the world. The Beijing Design Expo — an important part of Beijing Design Week — kicked off at the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall on Wednesday. Themed of “the dimension of people's livelihood,” this year's expo will continue the “multi-section & multi-theme” style employed in previous expos. It will be held on September 23-26.
Customers buy White Rabbit milk candies at a food shop in Shanghai's landmark Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street on Tuesday, the site where Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited on Monday night before buying three bags of White Rabbit candies for 60 yuan ($8.8). Established in 1959, White Rabbit milk candy — or dabaitu — is an iconic candy brand in China. It is not only sold in China but also Southeast Asia, the US and Europe. Former US President Richard Nixon was gifted White Rabbit candies when he visited China in 1972.
